Complete the exercise by writing the plural form of each noun.

This is how the plural of nouns is formed in English:

 

For most nouns, -s is added.


For nouns ending in -s, -x, -sh or -ch, -es is added.


For nouns ending in a vowel (a, e, i …) and -y, -s is added. For nouns ending in a consonant (b, c, d …) and –y, the plural is formed with -ies.


Note the irregular plural forms:

one man – many men

one woman – many women

one child – many children

one tooth – many teeth

one foot – many feet

one sheep – many sheep

one fish – many fish
