Complete the sentences with the future progressive (future continuous) form of the verbs in brackets. Do not use short forms!
Grammar rules
The future progressive (future continuous) is formed with will + be + the -ing form of the verb. Note that, as with other progressive tenses, the future progressive is generally not possible with state verbs (be, know, seem …).
They will be playing football between 3 and 4.
The future progressive tense is used for an action that will still be in progress at a specific point in the future.
She will be flying to America this time next week.
He will be painting the wall when we get there.
The future progressive can also be used for events that have already been fixed – we expect them to take place as planned.
We will be discussing the problem at our meeting next Tuesday.
The future progressive can be used to politely ask people about their plans. Questions asked in the future progressive are more polite and formal than those asked in the going to future or the present progressive.
