Correct the Mistakes - Present Perfect

Have you tried the new restaurant in Maidstone?

For verbs ending in a consonant and -y, the past participle (and the simple past) is formed with -ied.

Have you ever/already visited the new museum?

Yet usually comes at the end of the sentence.

I´m not hungry, we have already had dinner.

Form the present perfect with have/has + past participle

Somebody has hidden my books in the garden.

Hid is the form of the simple past tense: hide – hid – hidden

I have known my best friend for a long time.

We do not use a present tense for situations that began in the past and continue into the present.

She has not paid for the tickets yet.

Form the negative in the present perfect with have/has + not + past participle.

Things have worked out wonderfully.

Have you ever been to Portugal?

Form a question in the present perfect with have/has + subject + past participle.

Some students have begun to renovate our classroom.

Began is the form of the simple past tense: begin – began – begun

I have not seen your sister since last Monday.

Since + point in time, for + period of time

The dog has eaten your burger!

Ate is the form of the simple past tense: eat – ate – eaten

It is still cloudy, but the rain has stopped.

In the case of verbs with a stressed final syllable ending in a vowel and a consonant, the consonant is doubled.

They have already spoken to the teacher.

Her hair has grown long recently.

Grew is the form of the simple past tense: grow – grew – grown
